The McNeil River journey showed me I could conquer my fears and just "go for it." The next challenge, in Denali National Park, taught me more about bears and also about dealing with life experiences.
I love hearing about your many, many writing experiences. Not only do you have many experiences with scientists and writing, you took a zoology degree and did something unusual with it! I read posts by people who bemoan the fact that their degree didn't give them what they expected. I use you as an example of someone who made her own "unexpected"!
Thanks, Wendy! I was just reading about bears at Lake Tahoe that are way too familiar with people and hungry--one actually got into a car and "drove" it down to the road below!
No bears here on Kaua'i--the biggest wildlife are the wild pigs; little ones are cute, big boars can be dangerous.
